Sovereignty

We all seek sovereignty in our lives. It is the human freedom and ability to be fully present in life with the richness of our growth experiences. It is following our sacred inner process in a creative way —- in a fearlessly open and adventurous way. It is being willing to struggle consciously in relationship with what life gives, using all our highly developed skills to bring something better to our collective life. It is seeing every person we make contact with as fundamentally an equal through perception of the inner "spiritual" domain of true being. Personal sovereignty is based on the truth that no two people can know the same reality. We only can know that we are aligned with one another in the daily unfolding of our personal myth/truth. A few years ago, I wrote the following poem on this intriguing concept:
SOVEREIGNTY
Empower by Intention, find joy in every day,
The journey then starts to flow and work turns into play;
Our path in life takes courage and faith in vast degree,
Its mystery escapes us, 'til eyes learn how to "see."
In "seeing" we find purpose, the reason we are here;
When ego is relinquished, the Vision becomes clear;
Let go of all attachment, leap from every cliff,
Into the arms of Spirit, receive the Divine gift.
The gift we are exists within, buried deep in fear;
Knowingness will set it free ... release the need to "steer";
Embrace the self in sovereignty, Love can then expand;
Unbridled from emotion, there's clarity of stand.
Emotions with their hooks out keep Clarity at bay;
Identity, linked and lost, lies hidden far away;
Choice can vanquish all the pain, perspective is the key;
Step up from the 'small story' and choose to truly BE.
'Small story' spawns illusion, enmeshment in the past;
With embodiment of Essence, shadows can't be cast;
'Big Story' reveals mission, alignment broadcasts Truth;
Light breaks through to who we are and what we came to do.
